Still Sanders March & Rally – Los Angeles

June 16, 2016

If Bernie Sanders is done, why are his supporters still marching?

On June 26th, cities around the country will be holding another round of pro-Bernie Sanders marches in support of the Vermont senator’s run for the White House. The marches will take place under the hashtags #StillSandersMarch and #OurRevolution, and are meant to highlight the passion and dedication of Bernie Sanders supporters while drawing attention to the issues of election fraud and voter disenfranchisement. With neither Democratic candidate securing enough pledged delegates to win the nomination outright, Sanders supporters still have hope that he could take the nomination at a contested convention in July.

Black Men for Bernie founder Bruce Carter will make a previously unscheduled trip back to Los Angeles to speak at the rally associated with the Los Angeles march. Carter and his organization are currently undertaking an effort called the “Get in the Game”, a 20 Million Voter Registration Drive, meant to reach out to young people of color and other groups who have been historically disenfranchised by the current political structure, and encourage them to get involved in the political system and revolutionize the future of our country. In addition to traveling back to LA, Carter will be hosting a series of barbecues in cities around the country to raise awareness about the project and its goals, and to start to get people involved.
